For her new per­for­man­ce The Waves, Khadija El Kharraz Alami not only takes inspi­ra­ti­on from the book by Virginia Woolf, but also from essays by Clarissa Pinkola Estes and Audre Lorde. The Waves is a ritu­al, a mani­fes­to, an immersi­ve expe­rien­ce in which fema­le beau­ty, pain and vul­ne­ra­bi­li­ty are embra­ced. Together with four act­res­ses, El Kharraz Alami cre­a­tes a phy­si­cal spa­ce in which we dare to look trau­ma in the eye, plea­su­re is cele­bra­ted, the body is bles­sed and the power of cre­a­ti­on shared.
